HIP Kids participate in the annual Walk for Autism DC sponsored by Autism Speaks. This year, the walk was held on Saturday, November 3, 2012. Participants walked for 2.5 miles wearing funny sunshades and sports jerseys!

HIP Kids & The Head Gamers (a student walk group) joined the Gwynn Park High School Marching Band and JROTC for the 6th National Walk for Epilepsy on the Mall in DC. For more information about this annual event, click here!
MECS helped to sponsor 20 participants to a day at Six Flags amusement park with a mixed group of typical and differently-abled teens, with help from the HSC Foundation.
Trenton was named the HSC Foundation’s 2011 disability advocate!
MECS & HIP Kids partnered with the Metro Warriors Youth Organization on Sunday, December 18, 2011 for our Learn & Earn CPR Awareness Project. Students ages 8 to 18 were invited to learn how and when to administer CPR (note: this was not a certification project).
